Angela is 12 and has 3 step-sisters approaching their thirties; the four meet for the first time when summoned for the death of a charismatic waster: their daddy. Never lived with someone but her father, her sisters will leave Angela on the other side of the country with an aunt to prevent the social services from taking her in.

But in this voyage of mourning, Angela will experience new situations and feelings. Rubén Mendoza masterly dives in a ‘womanhood world’ and delivers a meaningful film that manages to convey a lot with little elements, in subtle, delicate manners. A road movie that goes from grief to a new awakening, a sweet coming of age showing some of the issues of Colombian society. A heartwarming movie that offers a deeply intimate and multi-layered story while going through the exuberant landscapes of the Latin America.

“Wandering Girl” has won the Grand Prix for best film at the Black Nights Film Festival in 2018.
